GIRLS CAN! CRATE: How old are you?
Genevieve: I am 7 ½ years old.

GC!C: Where are you from?
G: I am from Indiana, the Hoosier State

GC!C: What grade are you in?
G: I am in second grade.

GC!C: What kinds of things do you like to do?
G: Some things I like to do are writing in journals and writing stories. I like to paint and make things. And I really love to read.

GC!C: What do you want to be when you grow up?
G: I want to be many things when I grow up. But maybe I will be a trailblazer. Maybe I will be a scientist, a writer, an artist or a chef. I would like to go on many adventures.

GC!C: From your crates, who has inspired you the most?
G: Nellie Bly has inspired me to travel and write. Julia Child has inspired me to try new things and make yummy foods. Juliette Gordon Lowe has inspired me to keep learning and be adventurous.

GC!C: What has been your favorite activity and why?
G: The entomologist crate was so cool. I liked catching bugs in my container and looking at them. I also liked making the survival bracelet in Juliette Gordon Lowe’s crate. My mom wears it sometimes. And writing my own newspaper with Nellie Bly. The most recent Crate had ping pong paddles and sweatbands. I played with my mom and my dad. We had so much fun.

GC!C: Why have they inspired you?
G: They are fearless! They don’t give up. They keep trying.

GC!C: If we made a crate about you, what would its title be?
G: If you made a Crate about me, I think I would call it Genevieve: The Painting Poet. I want to make poetry but use painting as a way to do it. I will tell poems through my paintings. Anywhere I go, I can do this. I can do all of the things that I love in this way.

GC!C: Who else inspires you?
G: There are a lot of women in my life that inspire me. One of them is my cousin Alaina. Alaina is very successful and very kind. She is getting her Masters Degree and does many good things for people, like volunteering. She inspires me because she is able to accomplish her goals and still be kind to everyone around her.

GC!C: If you could meet anyone from now or history, who would you want to meet?
G: If I could meet anyone from history, I would want to meet Marie Curie so we could do experiments together and I could ask her what her life was like growing up.

GC!C: What are some of your favorite things to learn about?
G: Some things I love to learn about are the nature part of science. I enjoy being outside and looking at trees, leaves, bugs, flowers and animals. I enjoy learning about words and their meanings. And I really like learning about artists and art history.

GC!C: Finish this sentence: I am awesome because….
G: I am awesome because I am good at reading and I am kind to others.

GC!C: Finish this sentence: Girls can…
G: Girls can be anything!!!

Thanks, Genevieve! We are so inspired by you and can’t wait to see how you continue to change the world!
