Thankful for Marie

We chose to celebrate the life and work of Marie Curie forever ago, or at least that's what it feels like given that life seems to pass by in a flurry of activity. As always, I, Kristen, began to dig deep into her life as I prepared to write her story and prepare blog posts, etc. Sure, I was familiar with Marie Curie and knew that she was an important scientist. I knew her contributions were profound and had far-reaching effects. What I didn't know, though was just how much I would personally owe her. This season of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for Marie Curie and her work with radiation because without it, I might still have that insidious and evil thing called cancer burrowing inside of me.
